Trump Slams Clinton’s ‘Bigotry’ In Speech Reaching Out To Black Voters

Donald Trump made an appeal to black voters on Tuesday by pointing out what should be obvious – Democrats have abysmally failed the black community. “It must be restored for the sake of all, but most especially the sake of those living in the affected communities”.

Unlike his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, Trump did not address African-Americans frustrations with the racially disproportionate effects of law enforcement.

The Clinton campaign responded by accusing Trump of being the bigot instead.

During a campaign event in West Bend, Wisconsin where he was introduced by Gov. Scott Walker, Trump said, “The other party – the Democratic Party – nominated the personification of special interest corruption”. “Our job is to make life more comfortable for the African American parent who wants their kids to be able to safely – safely – walk the streets and walk to school. There’s no compassion in tolerating lawless conduct for anyone”.

“The quiet voices in our society, not the loudest demonstrators, need to have their demands heard”, he said Tuesday night. He then referenced the Second Amendment – intimating that it applies to every citizen, not just the political class – and he said, “I believe all Americans – not just the powerful – are entitled to security”. “The scary thing for Republicans in the Virginia and Colorado numbers is that they show a possible Hillary Clinton landslide in states that only eight years ago leaned GOP and before that had been GOP strongholds”, Brown said.

At a rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday, Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden urged supporters to not be complacent.

Trump is struggling to attract support from black voters. Many pundits have pointed out that Trump’s domination of the news cycle, previously an asset in the crowded Republican primary field, is now often a liability as the press focus on his controversial rhetoric in speeches does not play as well with a general election audience. The move is a jab directed at Clinton, who has raked in millions in speaking fees and has not released transcripts from those speeches.

Trump’s racism, particularly toward black people, is no secret. But he offered few specifics about how the process might work or how it would be paid for by taxpayers. But in announcing the shakeup, Trump said Bannon would now oversee the campaign staff and operations, raising questions about Manafort’s role going forward.
