Trump Slips to Second In Latest Poll

Donald Trump, the real estate mogul who has always been the front-runner in the Republican presidential primary, will for the first time help the Republican National Committee raise money in December.

Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, received 26% of the support in the New York Times/ CBS News poll released on Tuesday (27 October) morning. Next are Jeb Bush, the former governor of Florida, and former business executive Carly Fiorina, each with 7 percent. Trump supporters were a bit more firm in their decision, with 55 percent saying they have made up their minds on the reality TV star.

Still unanswered, though, was Trump’s mocking of Carson’s religion.

Support for Carson had quadrupled since August, the poll added.

Seven in 10 of those who expressed support for a candidate said it was too early to say for sure who they would support.

Trump told the crowd being in second place in recent surveys of likely Iowa Caucus-goers was “terrible”, but he doubled down on campaigning here. Trump maintains a commanding lead in every other state, notes Breitbart. “If I only get the trade imbalance down to $100-billion, in four years, get rid of me”, Trump said. “The support with women is a little bit less than the men, that’s why Ivanka said to me, ‘Dad you have to go out and you have to talk about it because there’s nobody that’s better to women”. It’s the first time this election cycle anyone other than Trump has been in the lead on the Republican side.

“It’s certainly a possibility that I won’t make it”, he said. The third Republican debate is on Wednesday, which could further scramble the unsettled field.
