Trump speechwriter takes blame for Melania Trump’s speech
At one point, Trump insinuated that Cruz’s wife Heidi was less attractive than his own wife Melania, and later he made suggestions that Cruz’s Cuban father was somehow connected to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

“What was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death, before the shooting?”
Cruz was harshly critical of Trump in the waning weeks of their primary battle, calling the businessman a “pathological liar” and “utterly amoral”.
After a couple of awkward joint appearances, US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his running mate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, will make a show of their solidarity at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday despite a string of policy differences.
The roll call vote of states on Tuesday gave Trump enough delegates at the Republican National Convention to win the nomination after months of speculation and dissent within the GOP ranks. “He’s a doer in a game usually reserved for talkers”, Pence said. While anti-Clinton sentiment is an easy way to bring Republicans together, the negativity crossed the line for some in the party.
“What if this is our last time?”.
“Trump Never Give Up: How I Turned My Biggest Challenges Into Success”, March 2010.
It wasn’t supposed to be this way.
The issue had dominated media coverage of the convention for much of Tuesday and distracted from the Trump campaign’s efforts to use Melania’s remarks to humanise her husband to voters. “Jeff, did you email them to fly the plane right when I said that?” he asked Jeff Roe, his former campaign manager.
Meredith McIver apologised for inadvertently plagiarising a part of Michelle Obama’s (R) 2008 Democratic convention speech for Melania Trump’s (L) speech.
He said Cruz’s advice actually amounts to an endorsement since there’s only one candidate on the ballot in November who’ll uphold the Constitution – and that’s Trump, he says.
“In working with Melanie Trump on her recent First Lady speech, we discussed many people who inspired her and messages we wanted to share with the American people”.
It was clear Cruz was looking a little further than November’s election.
He has hired a David Polyansky, a top adviser in the campaign, as his Senate chief of staff.
He also questioned whether Cruz was eligible to run for the presidency because he was born in Canada.
Cruz paused, then said: “I appreciate the enthusiasm of the NY delegation”.
But some delegates who supported others in the primaries were already lining up behind Trump.
“He’s really not prepared to be president of the United States”, Kasich said of Trump in March. I can’t adhere to this. Ted Cruz leading the charge. “Some of the things he’s said and written in his books are very hard”, Herrod said. “I’m comfortable that it’s a less awkward situation than I’ve seen in many marriages”.
Manafort also told CNN he expected Cruz to have some role in the campaign in the future but was not sure in what capacity.
Delegates on the floor implored Cruz to back the nominee, chanting Trump’s name, then erupting in a chorus of boos when he ignored their pleas.
“We can get into the fact that he accused my best friend’s father of conspiring to kill JFK”, Lee said.

Cruz then exited to loud booing from the crowd. He finished his remarks calmly and smiled as he left the spotlight, exiting into the darkness.
