Trump steps up attacks on ex-Miss Universe
In another development, former Miss Australia Jodie Seal called Trump “controlling” during her time competing in the 1996 Miss Universe pageant.

During Monday’s debate, Hillary Clinton cited Trump’s harsh treatment of the beauty queen, Alicia Machado, as an example of his flawed judgment.
Unsurprisingly, Trump’s pre-dawn Twitter tirade ricocheted across the campaign trail.
Bill O’Reilly may have downplayed his friendship with Donald Trump while visiting with Ellen DeGeneres, but there’s always going to be some affection there.
In a series of tweets between 2:14 and 2:19 a.m., the Republican presidential candidate suggested that Clinton helped the Venezuelan-born 1996 Miss Universe become a USA citizen “so she could use her in the debate”.
In 2005, the former beauty pageant victor appeared on a Spanish reality TV show called La Granja VIP, which translates to The VIP Farm. The images, posted this week to a newspaper’s website, are grainy and does not include nudity.
In the video, Machado said Trump refused to pay her what she was owed for commercials, called reporters on her to watch her work out, and consistently shamed her for gaining weight after the pageant. She said Trump’s slew of tweets against 1996 Miss Universe Alicia Machado show that he is “temperamentally unfit” to be president.
According to the Daily Beast, the Trump campaign sent out talking points stating that Machado was trying to “gain notoriety at the expense of Mr. Trump’s name and reputation”.
On the issue of Trump’s previous comments about women and their weight, co-host Mika Brzesinski did not hold back. Fast forward to present day and Trump is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, reaching a new low with less than 40 days until Election Day.
The Republican candidate has fueled the fire by continuing to push back against Clinton’s assertion, claiming that his efforts to have her lose weight was meant to help her keep the crown. But Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon took to Twitter to ask, “What kind of human being is this?” His tweet about a sex tape appears to be a reference to her appearance on a reality TV show in 2005 in which she is shown in bed with another contestant.
He adds that she and other girls knew what they were getting into, adding, “It’s a beauty contest”. His late-night tweets only resurrected those concerns. Trump didn’t mention the tweets Friday evening as he rallied supporters in MI.
Addressing his almost 12 million followers, Trump charged that the Venezuela-born Machado, who won the Trump-owned beauty pageant in 1996, had “duped” the Clinton campaign. Did you say, ‘Hey listen, why are you saying women are fat?
Does Alicia Machado really have a sex tape?
“Let’s be honest here, folks: There’s only one pig in this whole story”, Noah later said, “and it’s the one who got slaughtered at the debate on Monday”.
