The new poll shows Trump losing to Hillary Clinton, the probable Democratic nominee, 48 to 36.

Ex-secretary of state Clinton leads rival Democrats overwhelmingly with 55 percent support among Democratic voters, according to the poll. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and 13% for Vice President Joseph Biden. In 1992, a similar situation occured when businessman Ross Perot’s independent candidacy helped topple George H.W. Bush’s reelection bid and paved way for Bill Clinton to secure the presidency with just 43 percent.

But even with his lead among Republicans, Trump has other obstacles to reckon with. The next closest was Walker with 13 percent and Bush with 10.

Political scientist and expert on public opinion at Vanderbilt University John Geersaid said the polls make sense given Trump’s appeal to conservative voters who believe that the party nominated two moderate establishment candidates McCain and Romney.

Results of the Quinnipiac poll, if they are included in determining the line-up, will have a huge impact, Brown said. Walker, who is leading or second in many national polls, was unknown by 39 percent of those polled. Trump had a solid 20 percent of the vote total from Republicans and Republican-leaning Americans, mostly due to the heavy media coverage he has been receiving.

When Bash pressed him on whether that process involves deportation, Trump elaborated, “They’re with their parents, it depends”. Sanders also got his best score, with 32 percent favorable compared to 25 percent unfavorable.

The Reuters survey results also showed that Trump has about the same 23 percent chance as Bush to beat Clinton in a head to head match-up.

As Western Journalism reported on Wednesday, Fox News has modified the rules of its August 6th debates – one to be held in prime time with the GOP candidates polling in the top 10, another earlier in the day with the remaining declared contenders for the White House getting somewhat less impactful TV exposure. Since being honest and trustworthy are also the most important factor to voters in this poll, Clinton will need to change her current robot-like campaign to appear more genuine.
