Trump stumbling through difficult week, Clinton leads in polls

Donald Trump on Saturday openly questioned rival Hillary Clinton’s mental stability, saying he doesn’t think she’s “all there” and making fun of her explanation that she “short circuited” when walking back comments about the Federal Bureau of Investigation and her email server. So it shouldn’t be hard for Clinton and her surrogates to keep the question of his temperament alive. He returned to New Hampshire on two other occasions, but both times he held small, private events rather than the gymnasium rallies that have become a staple of his campaign.

Trump and Clinton are expected to outline their economic plans this week in Detroit.

If all this isn’t enough to suggest Clinton is on the move, she now has an advantage in Georgia, a state that last voted Democratic for president in 1992, when Bill Clinton won by six-tenths of a percentage point.

“The legacy of Hillary Clinton: death, destruction, chaos and weakness”, Trump said.

In May, it was “Heartless Hillary” – the brash NY businessman chambered that one during a speech at the National Rifle Association.

Clinton, 68, has been leading in all national polls for the past one week.

Satisfaction with both candidates remains low: almost 6 in 10 registered voters said that they are unhappy with both Clinton and Trump as major party candidates.

To date, most congressional Republicans, and party leaders, continue to support Donald Trump or say they will vote neither for him nor for Hillary Clinton. “I think he’s been doing a lot better as time goes on”.

Donald Trump also said the United States has to rethink its alliance with nations who don’t pay their share of defense costs.

Clinton has widened her lead over Trump in most recent polls, riding a post-convention bounce and Trump’s self-inflicted errors such as the spat with the Khans. On Friday he announced his economic policy advisory team, said he would deliver an economic policy speech early next week, and was expected to endorse U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan, the top U.S. elected Republican, who is seeking his 10th term in Congress.

More than half of young whites – 54 percent – think Clinton intentionally committed a crime, and another 17 percent think she did so unintentionally. “I know all of those of you in the media don’t believe this but you really don’t treat us the same way”, Giuliani said. Speaking at the National Association of Black Journalists and National Association of Hispanic Journalists in Washington, when she said: “I hope you will compare what I’m proposing to what my husb-.my opponent is talking about”. Attempting to neutralise her attacks against his character and qualifications, Trump has sought to undermine her decision-making skills while painting her as an out-of-touch member of the Washington political establishment.

Trump told a crowd of supporters that he’s not sure the former first lady and secretary of state is up to the job.
