In her letter, Bardack said Clinton “has been seen by me regularly this year for routine care”.

Clinton “is recovering well with antibiotics and rest”, writes Dr. Lisa Bardack.

Clinton’s health became a sudden focus of the presidential race after she abruptly left the event commemorating the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in NY and was later filmed stumbling and being helped into a van by her aides. Clinton takes medication for an under active thyroid, which has been stable for years, Clarinex for her allergies, a vitamin B12 supplement and the blood thinner Coumadin following a 2012 blood clot in her head. Trump, on the other hand, provided a summary from a recent physical to Dr. Mehmet Oz while taping an episode of Oz’s show.

In a fiery speech, Obama said Trump is not fit to be the president of the United States.

Days after a video emerged of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton appearing to faint and collapse into her Secret Service-protected van on Sunday, a new poll reveals Americans fear the 69-year-old has more to hide. If Trump wins, he will be the oldest newly elected president beating Ronald Reagan who was 69 when he took the oath of office.

Later Thursday, Clinton held a news conference where she addressed tightening polls between her and Trump. She had a normal mammogram and breast ultrasound and shows no signs of developing heart disease, which runs in her family.

Both major party candidates remain underwater when it comes to favorability, with more than 50% of likely voters holding unfavorable impressions of Clinton and Trump.

The letter from Bardack, the chair of internal medicine at CareMount Medical in Mount Kisco, N.Y., said a chest scan revealed the candidate had “mild, non-contagious bacterial pneumonia”.

National polling averages also show Mrs Clinton’s lead dropping from 6.8 percentage points this time last month to the current 1.8 percentage points.

Clinton’s campaign said on Wednesday that her physician found her complete physical examination was “normal” and she is in “excellent mental condition”. The diagnosis: Clinton is in good health and is “recovering well” from pneumonia.

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign has adopted an indignant tone to ongoing questions about why he hasn’t released his tax returns.
