Trump takes in $51 million, takes potential VP’s on tour
While in Cleveland, John Kasich, Ohio’s governor and a former candidate himself, made it clear he’s not on that list.

On Tuesday night, Trump promised that the figures would prompt a big gasp when released. The campaign brought in $40.5 million, while an additional $28 million was raised through joint fundraising and routed to the Democratic National Committee and state parties.
The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee announced this month that they are adding about 85 fundraising veterans to their operation.
The tycoon’s team said more than US$26 million had been raised from more than 400,000 supporters through a newly set up online and small contribution network. Donald J. Trump personally contributed $3.8 million to the campaign this month which brings total contributions to $55 million.
Trump, who effectively clinched his party’s nomination on May 3, raised just $3.1 million from other donors that month.
The campaign did not immediately clarify how much money came in June, or how much went to his campaign versus Republican committees.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign announced last week it had raised $68 million in June. By contrast, Hillary Clinton raised million in May.
The Trump campaign is hoping to draw some of the senator’s supporters to back the Republican in the general election over Clinton. “They said ‘Oh it had money behind it.’ So actually they’re racially profiling”.
Corker stood at least a foot shorter and spoke in slow, deliberate phrases instead of Trump’s rapid-fire braggadocio. This is Donald Trump’s convention and I wish him well at the convention. “But if it’s Newt, nobody is beating him in the debates”. Clinton’s campaign said it began July with $44 million in available cash as it continued its advertising onslaught against Trump, whom Clinton has dominated on the airwaves. “The communications and digital efforts are very much working hand in hand to make sure that we’re reaching different audiences and working together”, Audrey Scagnelli, the national press secretary for the convention, told Adweek.
But compared with his competition and candidates of years past, Trump is still a ways behind.

“The first significant action a presidential nominee takes in putting together his or her administration is selecting a VP”, said Beth Myers, who helmed Romney’s search. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., speaks to reporters on Capitol Hill in Washington.
