Trump takes time from victory lap to swat at Ted Cruz

A crowd booed a reference to Donald Trump at a Republican party event Wednesday, just as his plane was landing in Cleveland where he’ll be celebrated as the party’s presidential nominee. But as it drew to a close, and it became apparent that Cruz would not offer the nominee a full-throated endorsement or urge his hundreds of delegates to vote for Trump come November, boos echoed across the arena. “But he didn’t keep his pledge”.

Cruz then doubled down this morning, telling delegates from Texas that he’s “not in the habit of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my father”.

“I understand it was a tough campaign, a personal campaign, but there is a greater good here, from my perspective, and that would be a Republican winning the White House and making those appointments to the Supreme Court”, he said.

Ted Cruz has set himself up perfectly to win the 2020 endorsement of National Review, if it’s still being published, and the support of the most extreme, diehard NeverTrumpers.

“Things have been said on both sides and there have been no apologies given”. I want to see unity and the way to see unity is for us to unite behind shared principles; us to unite in defense of liberty. Cruz’s wife, Heidi, was also heckled and had to be escorted out by security. He finished his speech.

I’m not about to elevate Cruz as some bastion of integrity and honor, but his defiance was actually refreshing to see.

“I think (she’s) the best thing he’s got going and his kids if you want to know the truth”, he continued during a almost 15-minute ramble about Cruz.

“I still love Ted Cruz, but I wish he would have maybe just went ahead and said, that means we have only one choice, and that’s to vote for Donald Trump”, Boyer said. He’s 44 years old. “Ted’s got time to get right on this deal, and I hope he will”.

At the Swinging Door BBQ joint, the talk at the table is Ted Cruz.

“I really think that he let the Republican party down last night”, said Beaman.

Cruz’s former campaign manager said he’ll continue to fight for his issues – even if it ruffles the feathers of a candidate or president Trump.

Cruz laughed and said “Alight that was pretty well-orchestrated”.

“In an awesome campaign field of 17 talented dynamic candidates, we beat 15 of those candidates”, Cruz told supporters, adding: “We just didn’t beat 16”. Patrick has previously said he plans to run for re-election as lieutenant governor that year and is not eying any other office. But he says he was “disappointed in some of the jabs he took during his speech”.

Coulter went on to say that when Cruz started to embrace similar positions to Trump, he should’ve wised up and looked for ways to attach himself to Trump’s rise to the top. Trump hit back, saying Cruz didn’t honour the pledge to support the official nominee.

I don’t know his father, I met him once.
