Trump tells black Detroit churchgoers: I’ll fight injustice
After the service, Trump toured a Detroit neighborhood with former rival Doctor Ben Carson.

Switching from economic woes to injustice experienced by the black community, Trump commended the African American Church for its part in forwarding the civil rights movement based on biblical principles. “We talk past each other, not to each other, and those who seek office do not do enough to step into the community and learn what is going on”, Trump said.
It always makes much more of an impression, I think, when you see things firsthand, Carson said.
Trump has been faulted for largely ignoring the black community during his campaign, and bypassing appearances before black churches and organisations in favour of rowdy, largely white rallies.
He said presently America sidelines “young black men with tremendous potential” and said “our entire country misses out when we are unable to harness the potential and energy of these folks”.
There was no apology, she said.
Mr Trump argues that his emphasis on job creation would help minority communities in a way that Democrats have failed to. He said he thought for a while that Trump was going to run a serious campaign, and liked that his position on trade tracked with that of Democratic primary contender and U.S. Sen. Lawrence said. “I don’t want my grandchild to listen to the rhetoric that she, as a woman and as an African-American, is classified and stereotyped as uneducated”, Lawrence said. Now its a little different from a Presbyterian church, he said. “I want to work with you to renew the bonds of trust between citizens and the bonds of faith that make our people strong”.
Recently, Trump has been seeing some improvements among this group and if he is able to secure around 15-20 percent of the support, White House could become a past affair for Hillary. They just like you once every four years – get your vote and then they say: “‘Bye, bye!'” he told African-Americans – albeit while addressing an overwhelmingly white rally in OH recently.
Jackson, who is not related to Bishop Jackson, said Trump’s campaign trail commentary about black lives is a pure illustration that “he has no clue” about blacks, the middle class or the poor.
The African-American community has been “one of God’s greatest gifts to America and to its people”, and there is no action than the country could do that would heal the nation than to “provide a greater platform to the black churches and churchgoers”. “There is no new Donald Trump”, Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon said Thursday.
“I believe we need a civil rights agenda for our time”, he added, according to BuzzFeed News. Surrounded by security and a swarm of reporters, Trump spoke briefly with the home’s current owner, Felicia Reese, wishing her luck.
Detroit has the highest percentage of black residents – more than 80 percent – of any large American city.
