There was concern about schemes to recruit shadow delegates who would not represent their declared candidates’ interests beyond voting for them on a first ballot in a deadlocked convention. The Texas senator already had locked up the support of 21 Colorado delegates and visited the state to try to pad his numbers there. In another congressional district, two of the candidates they urged voters to back did not, in fact, make it onto the ballot.

Trump left the Colorado convention to his organizers, and spent about a half-hour on Saturday touring the National Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum in lower Manhattan.

Sanders got word of his Wyoming win from his wife, Jane, midway through a rally in Queens, part of a four-stop swing through New York City. A new poll out by Monmouth shows Trump with 52 percent of the vote in NY. Each caucus will elect three delegates and three alternate delegates. “But it looks like most Democrats – even those who backed Bernie Sanders in the March primary – would support Clinton”. Sanders has 1,068.

The poll also reported that many of Trump’s California supporters are the same voters who backed action star Arnold Schwarzenegger when he ran in the state’s historic recall election for governor in 2003. I think it’s better than a 50 percent chance now. “Now, our friends in the media tell us that Donald Trump is unstoppable in New York State”. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) told a New Hampshire radio show yesterday, “Listen, I think, what I’ve said is, at this point I plan to support our Republican nominee”.

The mogul’s comments about Kasich came just days after he again refused to rule out an independent presidential bid should he be denied the Republican nomination.

The slate of Trump candidates Polisi was handing out listed 26 different names. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 6 percentage points. In order to clinch the nomination before the convention, a majority of 1,237 delegates is required. So far, he’s winning about 45 percent. Ted Cruz has surged as of late, picking up a total of 517 delegates in the process, the former host of “The Apprentice” is still considered the favorite to walk out of the Republican National Convention with the nomination.

Slates loyal to Cruz won every assembly in Colorado’s seven congressional districts, which began April 2 and culminated Friday with 12 delegates selected. Cotter is as an alternate delegate who would vote in Cleveland if the national delegate he’s meant to replace if needed couldn’t attend.

Dividing likely GOP voters based on education gives a stark view of their preferences: 52 percent of those with a high school degree or less say they’re supporting Trump, compared to 23 percent for Cruz and 13 percent for Kasich.
