Trump to return to Pennsylvania as Obama stumps for Clinton
Tuesday’s speech was likely one of the last Obama would give in Philadelphia while still president, a fact that saddened Philadelphia resident Sarah Begley, who came out to show support for someone she feels does not get enough credit.

But the president’s day job has kept him from being a fixture.
The departing commander in chief is expected to become his party’s campaigner in chief this fall. “There’s no question she is the most-qualified, experienced candidate in the race”.
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary ClintonHillary Rodham ClintonThis election, can we really trust the “experts”?
After the speech, Obama attended a closed fundraiser in Philadelphia for the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
Obama, who was interrupted by constant applause by the largely African-American crowd outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art, said Clinton would continue policies that, according to a Census Bureau report on Tuesday, lifted 3.5 million people out of poverty and raised the typical USA household’s income by 5.2 percent – to $56,516 – previous year.
“You can’t stay home because, oh, she’s been around for a long time”, Obama said, calling on supporters to “work as hard for Hillary as you did for me” and to make sure they were registered to vote by October 11. “You need to work as hard for Hillary as you did for me”.
Greeted with chants of “thank you!”, the president sought to trade on that popularity. “You should also vote for Pat Toomey”. “A Trump-Toomey economy will be right up your alley”. Obama said, invoking the Republican icon. While Clinton’s experience is attractive to some voters, others fear a continuation of the policies of President Barack Obama.
“Under the Obama-Clinton agenda, more Pennsylvanians are living in poverty, fewer Pennsylvanians own their homes, and countless Pennsylvanians are faced with skyrocketing health care costs”, said state GOP chairman Rob Gleason.
“That’s the difference between a senator who thinks for himself, and the partisan extremist rubber stamp that Katie McGinty would be”, Kwong said. “President Obama would rather campaign for Hillary Clinton than solve major problems facing the country”.
Clinton’s campaign said she had “overheated,” but later revealed that she had been diagnosed on Friday with pneumonia.
The president is among a list of surrogates hitting the trail for Clinton as the post-Labor Day sprint to November 8 heats up.

She is to return to the campaign trail on Thursday, her spokesman Nick Merrill said Tuesday evening. The president, who remains broadly popular among the Democratic base, is viewed as a key asset in pushing die-hard Democrats to the polls, especially in battleground state urban centres such as Philadelphia. ” Biden quipped that he would like to go for a jog with the Republican nominee, but said he doubts Trump’s ability to keep up”.
