Donald Trump made peace with the Republican leadership on Friday by endorsing Speaker Paul Ryan and senators John McCain and Kelly Ayotte who are running for re-election.

As of this writing, Ryan, Ayotte, and McCain have yet to respond to Trump’s endorsements.
Speaking at a journalism conference, Hillary Clinton continued to paint Trump as unsuitable and unprepared for the White House.
Less than an hour before the rally, Ryan had spoken to a Milwaukee radio station, where he said that he still supported the nominee, but that Trump needs to do better at picking his battles: “I wish he would be a little more disciplined”.
Trump’s endorsement of McCain and Ayotte was similar in tone. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), who he heaped scorn on during the Post interview.
If Trump wanted Ryan to kiss the ring and back down, he didn’t get it.
The Republican nominee also endorsed Sen.
“We will have disagreements”, Trump said.
Over the past few days, Mr. Trump had refused to endorse either Mr. Ryan and Mr. McCain fueling speculations that all is not well among the Republicans and the party is not united ahead of the crucial November general elections.
Trump earlier this week refused to endorse Ryan, telling The Washington Post he was “not quite there yet” – almost the same phrase Ryan had used about Trump before finally endorsing him.
He called her the “queen of corruption” and said, “In one way she’s a monster …”
“In the intelligence business, we would say that Mr. Putin had recruited Mr. Trump as an unwitting agent of the Russian Federation”, he added.
The charges came soon after Clinton addressed her own political vulnerabilities while facing a group of minority journalists in Washington.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani told NJ Advance Media that Trump is set to alter his campaign to focus more on the “positive than the negative”. In July, Trump implied Khan’s father Khizr Khan spoke instead of his wife Ghazala Khan because as Muslims, they subscribed to oppressive beliefs about the role of women (in reality, Ghazala Khan says she did not speak because the memory of her son was too painful). “I like people who weren’t captured”. Trump could lose all those states, along with Nevada, where a Democratic-held seat is vacant; if Republicans can’t prevail in Senate races nonetheless, they will lose their Senate majority.

“As a unified party, we will lead our country to unity, as well”, Trump said.
