Trump unfit to serve as president: Obama
He said: “Hillary Clinton has proven herself unfit to serve in any government office”.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump responded to President Barack Obama’s assertion that he was “unfit” to hold the office of the presidency, pointing out Hillary Clinton’s failures. Should Dems want Republicans to cling to Trump, so the whole party and its down-ticket incumbents and candidates are tainted by Trumpism, and (for longer term purposes) so the GOP bears some responsibility for its role in creating the conditions for Trumpism’s rise, thus making a full GOP reckoning (and a saner opposition party) after a Trump loss more likely?
Turning to his 2012 and 2008 election opponents, Obama said “Mitt Romney and John McCain were wrong on certain policy issues, but I never thought that they couldn’t do the job”. His statements also dovetail with Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s efforts to reach out to Republican voters particularly women who may be so upset by Trump that they’re willing to look past policy differences and questions about Clinton’s character.
Some interpreted Trump’s response as questioning whether it was because Ghazala Khan was required to be subservient to her husband, a tenant practiced by some traditionalist Muslims. “I hope Americans understand that the remarks do not represent the views of our Republican Party, its officers, or candidates”. The comments have drawn rebukes from both Democrats and Republicans such as U.S. Sen.
“President Obama has been a failed leader who along with Secretary of State Clinton created a foreign policy that has destabilized the world and made it an unsafe place”.
“Who would have believed that when we started this journey on June 16, last year, we…would have received nearly fourteen million votes, the most in the history of the Republican Party”, Trump beganhis remarks.
Trump said in the interview that he was “fortunate” to have not served in Vietnam, which he called “highly contested and unpopular”.
Although he said he would like to keep America’s North Atlantic Treaty Organisation alliance, Trump revealed that if he becomes president he may threaten ties with Europe.
“There has to be a point where you say, ‘This is not somebody I can support for president of the United States even if he purports to be a member of my party, ‘” Obama said.
One House Republican announced Tuesday that he would not support Trump. Mr Hanna said Mr Trump’s comments about the Khan family were the deciding factor.
Trump’s criticism was part of a familiar pattern: He can’t let go of a perceived slight, no matter the potential damage to his presidential campaign or political reputation.
“Please. I am very upset when I heard when he said that I didn’t say anything”.
“I’m still heartbroken”, says the chief warrant officer in the United States Army Reserve, who flew Black Hawk helicopters in Iraq.
In June, Whitman had compared Trump at a closed-door summit to Mussolini and Hitler and warned Republicans that compromising on some conservative principles to support Trump now might lead to bigger compromises in future years. Rep. Mike Coffman, a vulnerable Republican in a competitive Colorado district, said he was “deeply offended when Donald Trump fails to honor the sacrifices of all of our courageous soldiers who were lost in that war”.

I assume that point will come when Trump dips precariously low in the polls, but until then we’ll at least have a few more months to remember what a real president looks and sounds like.
