Earlier, Mr Obama said Mr Trump was unfit to be president, and questioned why his party still backed him.
During a White House briefing on Thursday, he had a suggestion for Trump, the candidate he has declared “unfit” for the presidency: “Go out there and try to win the election”. “What does this say about your party that this is your standard bearer?”
“I believe I know far more about foreign policy than he knows”, Trump said, making a direct reference to Ukraine.
Both Clinton and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump who earlier said he raised $35.8 million in small donations last month must report their fundraising information to federal regulators by August 20. Khan criticized Trump’s position on Muslims and asked whether the real estate mogul had read the Constitution.
At last week’s Democratic National Convention, Khizr Khan – a Muslim whose son was killed serving in the USA military in Iraq – criticised Mr Trump’s plan to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the US. “How can we possibly put any of the onerous on Donald Trump?”.
President Obama never mentioned Trump by name, but it was a response to Trump’s ongoing feud with Khizr and Ghazala Khan.
Last week, Obama addressed the Democratic convention in Philadelphia and painted this election as a choice not between a Democrat and Republican, but a Democrat and a demagogue who threatens democracy. During his recent trip to Atlanta, President Obama spoke at the National Convention of Disabled American Veterans and shared how Americans should honor Gold Star families.
Those who have worked with Trump say that in private meetings, he can often appear amenable to putting a controversy aside. Trump has sought to siphon off Sanders supporters and draw them to his campaign. The latest indicator of Trump’s temperament issues? “He’s been doing it now for over 30 years”.
That comes as he continues to face criticism from Republican lawmakers for attacking the Muslim-American parents of a U.S. Army captain killed in Iraq.
Trump has come under fire from within and without his party for his comments regarding the Khans.
Trump’s unwillingness to let the matter subside sparked outrage Monday from a chorus of Republicans.
Senator McCain from Arizona, a leading voice on military matters in Congress said: “While our party has bestowed upon him the nomination, it is not accompanied by unfettered license to defame those who are the best among us”.
It is with this friend in mind that Officer McGill says he will not consider voting for Donald Trump. Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt said the Khans “deserve to be heard and respected”.
“Hillary Clinton has proven herself unfit to serve in any government office”, a Trump statement said, listing a number of policy concerns.
However, none of the Republican lawmakers pulled back their support of Trump’s White House campaign.

For the past several weeks Mr Trump has been calling Ms Clinton “crooked” in his rallies. Khan asked. “I would again appeal to his surrogates: Please show some decency”.
