Trump, Union Leader feud grows as paper dropped from debate

A Donald Trump supporter was kicked out of a rally in Windham, New Hampshire on Monday after demanding that the candidate tell more “jokes”.

“I am pleased to announce that I had the Union Leader removed from the upcoming debate”, Trump tweeted Sunday afternoon, minutes after the newspaper was told by an ABC News executive they were going to “split ways”.

Trump has taken credit for the Union Leader’s exclusion from the next GOP debate in a series of tweets. He says the Union Leader has lost all credibility and that McQuaid “drove him wild” asking for newspaper advertising.

In a statement, McQuaid slammed ABC’s decision to end the debate partnership, calling it “spineless”.

Trump took aim at the paper and Christie in December, calling the paper’s editor, Joe McQuaid, a “lowlife” and throwing a copy of the paper onto the ground at a rally.

“Trump has shown himself to be a crude blowhard with no clear political philosophy and no deeper understanding of the important and serious role of president of the United States than one of the goons he lets rough up protesters in his crowds”, he continued. Trump, in turn, said the paper is failing and that McQuaid begged him to buy advertising space.

“We are amused by ABC apparently just discovering that we write editorials and endorse candidates”, he said.

“I love Donald but it’s so boring!” the man exclaimed to officers.

The Republican primary debate is scheduled for February 6. Between bowing to the DNC and Trump, ABC is more concerned about appeasing the parties and candidates than informing voters. The station is back in as a partner for the GOP debate.
