Trump University model: Sell hard, demand to see a warrant
“Those people saw an opportunity, and didn’t make excuses, like what you’re doing now”.

And, Curiel noted, there is now public interest in them since Trump “became the front-runner in the Republican nomination in the 2016 presidential race, and has placed the integrity of these court proceedings at issue”. “It’s important that we recognize what he has done because that’s usually a pretty good indicator of what he will do”.
Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for the November 8 presidential election, is fighting lawsuits that accuse his school venture of misleading thousands of people who paid up to $35,000 for seminars to learn about the billionaire’s real estate investment strategies. Plaintiffs contend that Trump University gave seminars and classes across the country that were like infomercials, constantly pressuring customers to buy more and, in the end, failing to deliver. “Some consumers had showed up who were homeless and could not afford the seminars, yet I overheard Trump University representatives telling them, ‘it’s ok; just max out your credit card'”.
Experts and speakers were supposed to have been “hand picked” by Trump and “one of Donald Trump’s top instructors”.
“It was targeted at people that were struggling”, Rubio said in March. They also contain specific instructions in a number of areas.
“I already am, as far as I’m concerned”, he said. Clinton aides have vowed to avoid repeating those mistakes and officials said that Wednesday marked the beginning of a concerted campaign on the subject.
Trump had fought Tuesday’s release of previously sealed documents in the case.
Potential students were required to provide a list of their assets, and Trump University employees were instructed to sort the students depending on how much in liquid assets they had. “These people did not necessarily have real estate experience, but they were skilled at high-pressure sales”.
“It is our job to rekindle that motivation, to make them once again see the potential of achieving their dream”. For Nicholas, “the whole focus of Trump University was on selling, not on teaching information”.
“You don’t sell products, benefits or solutions you sell feelings”, according to the sales playbook.
According to the documents, Trump University’s core customers were identified as male heads of households between 40 and 54-years-old with annual household incomes of at least $90,000, a college education and a net worth of more than $200,000.
During one-on-one conversations, “you may begin with some small talk to establish rapport but do not let them take control of the conversation”, a playbook reads. “You must be very aggressive during these conversations in order to push them out of their comfort zone”, the note to employees reads.
“If they complain about the price, remind them that Trump is the BEST!”
The documents include “playbooks” regarding running the enterprise and how to sell programs to customers.
The testimonials come as court documents released Tuesday in a class action lawsuit alleged Trump University officials often pressured individuals into signing up for the $35,000 program even when it was obvious the decision was a financial hardship.
The Trump University material also seems to foreshadow Trump’s run-ins with the media, offering tips for what organizers should do if a reporter attempts to conduct an interview at a seminar. They were unsealed on Friday by U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, whom Trump called “hostile” and “a hater”, adding he believed the judge was Mexican. Mr. Trump is on a mission to create the next wave of independently wealthy entrepreneurs in America.
“The judge, who happens to be, we believe, Mexican”, Trump said.
Clinton’s attack on Trump last week was prompted by recently released audio that Trump recorded in 2006 for Trump University.

“I believe that Trump University was a fraudulent scheme”, said Ronald Schnackenberg, who worked as a sales manager from October 2006 to May 2007, “and that it preyed upon the elderly and uneducated to separate them from their money”.
