It displays the kind of unscrupulous business tactics Trump has used here in the USA on working people, and his continued defense of what was clearly an attempt to separate the less financially savvy from their money shows that he feels absolutely no shame for it. He’s literally gotten death threats from a member of a Mexican cartel.
Legal scholars said Trump could face consequences for slamming the judge, although many have speculated that Curiel was unlikely to sanction him formally.

Democrats are eager to point out that they aren’t the first to make these points.
There is literally no evidence of anything like this. Trump has been criticized for the “Mexican” thing because it’s easy to pick on: It’s verifiably wrong; people tend to understand that, on some level, it’s being heard as a slur; and talking about people using “bad words” is often the easiest way to talk about racism.
