Trump Vows to Protect, Cherish Christian Values

“The fact that he is the first Republican nominee to attend since the summit’s inception in 2006”, Perkins stated in a press release, “demonstrates his understanding of the importance of values voters in the general election and his desire to work with them in addressing the critical issues facing our nation”.

Trump has taken to boosting his rhetoric – he has declared “the evangelicals love me” – with policy proposals. “We are going to do that. If you don’t, it could be a very unhappy November 8”, he said.

Trump also vowed to repeal the Johnson Amendment-a change in the US tax code proposed by then-Senator Lyndon B. Johnson, which prohibits tax-exempt organizations from endorsing a political candidate.

“The Johnson amendment has blocked our pastors and ministers and others from speaking their minds from their own pulpits”. I said, “So, folks, what you’re telling me is those people walking way, way down there on the sidewalk have really more power than you do because they’re allowed to express their feelings and thoughts openly and without penalty?”. “We’re going to get rid of it so fast”.

“At least waterboarding I get a choice – I can tell you information.I’m not proposing water boarding, but think for yourself – there’s a moral difference between dropping bombs over head, killing people, [and waterboarding.] At least he [the terrorist] has a chance to save his life and do something good for society”.

Before the Values Voter crowd, Trump, perhaps inadvertently, also resurrected another controversy he has weathered regarding his relationship with Russian Federation.

Just as Trump championed the birther movement, arguing that President Obama is neither an American nor a Christian, Perkins has suggested that Obama is not a true Christian (and is most likely a Muslim) and raised questions about his birthplace.

Common Core standards, Trump had a succinct proposal: “We’re gonna end it”. Last fall, nearly a year ago, he was here, still in a highly contested battle against over a dozen other GOP hopefuls.

Trump also tossed the words “African-American” and “Hispanic” into his remarks on education, jobs and the economic health of “inner cities”.

Trump and Hillary Clinton have clashed over national security for much of the week. Where the Democratic nominee has alleged that Trump’s candidacy is a “gift to ISIS” because of policies like banning Muslims from the USA, the billionaire told the crowd Friday that terror organizations say they hope Clinton wins.

“Now they are saying, ‘I hope she wins.’ Oh boy, would they dream of having her as president”.

Trump, who prides himself on unpredictability when it comes to foreign policy, even blasted Clinton for presenting a counterterrorism plan to the American people. Its repeal would “give our churches their voice back”, Mr Trump said, insisting that he had come up with the policy personally, and joking: “I figure it’s the only way I’m getting to heaven”.

The GOP nominee's speech will be livestreamed on You Tube at 3 p.m. Eastern.
