Trump wants more military tools, troops and a plan to defeat ISIS
Clinton said Wednesday at the forum, held in NY and televised on NBC, that defeating ISIS was her “highest counterterrorism goal”, and that she wanted to do it with “airpower” and “with much more support for the Arabs and Kurds who are in the fight. we have to squeeze them”.

(CNN) – Donald Trump stood by his past comment that military sexual assaults should be expected “when they put men and women together” in the USA armed forces during an NBC-hosted forum Wednesday night.
When asked by a Democratic-leaning military member whether he would allow an illegal immigrant serving in the military to stay in the US, contrary to his vows to make deportations a priority, the Republican presidential nominee said he would. “So Mr. Trump, your view that you can solve the war in Syria and end it by leaving Assad in power, I think, is fatally flawed”.
“For this reason, we support Donald Trump and his commitment to rebuild our military, to secure our borders, to defeat our Islamic supremacist adversaries and restore law and order domestically”.
Trump’s military plan includes spending money on more than 70 new ships and more than 70 new fighter aircraft, plus expanding the USA fighting force by 50,000 people, or about 10 percent.
“Steadiness, an absolute rock steadiness, mixed with strength to make the hard decisions”, she said.
Hillary Clinton, Trump’s Democratic rival, also supports ending the sequester on military spending.
Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid is getting a boost from William Cohen, a former Republican senator who served as Bill Clinton’s defense secretary.
He’ll say he wants an active Army of around 540,000, a Marine Corps based on 36 battalions, a Navy approaching 350 ships and submarines, and an Air Force of at least 1,200 fighter planes. “We will rebuild our military”.
Questioned on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Wednesday, Bob Corker, the Republican chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, repeatedly refused to say directly whether he had confidence in Trump as commander in chief.
Increasing the size without increase other support, he said, will decrease readiness and hollow out the force.
A senior adviser said ahead of the speech that Trump would make sure the additional spending was fully paid for but did not explain how. “The man has very strong control over a country”, Trump said.
Trump expressed support for the sequester in interviews in 2013 – even describing them as too small – but seemed to suggest at the time that military spending should be exempt.
It is not uncommon for the Congress to take it slow in an election year and legislative delays could work in Republicans’ favor if their nominee Donald Trump takes the White House in November. “Yeah, I guess so”, Trump said at the time.
Hillary Clinton supporters blasted him for not challenging Donald Trump when the Republican wrongly claimed he opposed the Iraq invasion all along. “I don’t think it should be outside of the military”, Trump said. She criticized him for “trash-talking” American generals and said it was “scary” to hear him praise Russian President Vladmir Putin. That is a standard practice for the major party nominees for president, as well as the sitting president.
Speaking at a news conference in Laos on Thursday, Obama says he continues to believe Trump isn’t qualified to be president and that “every time he speaks, that opinion is confirmed”. “We’re pleased to see the ban come to a long-overdue end”. I have good judgment. I was against the war in Iraq because I said it would totally destabilize the Middle East, which it has.
The ban began in the early days of Trump’s campaign last summer, when the celebrity businessman barred a reporter from The Des Moines Register from an event after the newspaper published an editorial calling for him to drop out of the race.

His campaign did not respond to a request for comment. Do they confirm reporting by The Washington Post’s David A. Fahrenthold that Trump has been stingy with charities?
