Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump told reporters on Thursday that some of the speakers at the Democratic National Convention made his so mad he wanted to “hit” them “so hard”.
“I was gonna hit one guy in particular, a very little guy”, Trump said at his rally.
Trump said this nameless guy who “came out of nowhere” had done business with him in the past, but is now suddenly against him. “I was going to hit a number of those speakers so hard their heads would spin, they’d never recover!” Trump often used the word “hit”, meaning verbally attack. He later went after his main “mystery” opponent on Twitter, delivering more insults.
A month earlier, Trump said of a protester at a Nevada rally, “I’d like to punch him in the face”.
“He said a lot of things about me, I never met the guy”.
“You know what I wanted to do”, Trump continued. “He made deals with me”.
His campaign did not respond to a request asking to clarify who Trump was talking about, reports CNN. After all, a lot of people said some pretty nasty things about Donald Trump at the Democratic National Convention, so the list of who he could have been referring to included virtually every Democratic speaker at the DNC. Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign has already released an ad featuring a medley of Trump’s nastiest moments.
You can bet he’s going to hear about this one.
Trump repeated the sentiment at a rally hosted in Cedar Rapids several hours later, and expressed his desire to “hit this [little] guy so bad”.

For that reason, he said he believes Trump will win in states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Iowa as long as he stays focused on the issues and offers voters the “very clear choice” between his outsider’s approach for restoring American greatness versus maintaining the status quo in Washington under Clinton.
