Trump widens New Hampshire lead, Sanders loses some to Clinton
Marco Rubio, a first-term senator on the rise in the US presidential race, faced a barrage of attacks in Saturday night’s Republican debate, with rivals vigorously challenging his readiness to be president and the depth of his expertise as they sought to salvage their own White House hopes. Chris Christie, John Kasich and Jeb Bush, the task is to make sure the closing argument here isn’t their last.

About 75 percent are “definitely” voting for Trump, with 57 percent echoing that sentiment for Cruz and 51 percent for Rubio.
“No one knows what’s going on in this race at all”, the New Jersey governor and said on “Good Morning America” today. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s strong showing in Iowa demonstrated his views are resonating with voters too.
Rubio can deliver a speech as well as anyone seeking the presidency. Marco Rubio is a gifted, gifted politician, and he may have the skills to be a President of the United States, but we’ve tried it the old way with Barack Obama, with soaring eloquence, and we didn’t get a leader.
But after Rubio’s exchange with Christie, Don said he wanted to see more of Kasich. While the Republicans clashed on issues like abortion and torture, the concerted effort to take down Rubio dominated the debate.
But GOP strategist Rick Wilson countered that Rubio was hitting a home run with Republican voters and that his debate message was “dead on” for them.
“Leadership. You learn this, you learn it by doing it”, he declared “It’s not something that you just go up, and on the job do it”.
Trump was back on the debate stage after skipping the last contest before the Iowa caucuses.
Clinton, a narrow victor last Monday in the leadoff Iowa caucuses, has said Sanders has a natural advantage in the northeastern state because he represents the neighboring state of Vermont in the Senate, while Sanders has pointed out that Clinton herself came back to defeat then-Illinois Sen.
Christie repeatedly challenged Rubio at the debate, hosted by ABC News, and the Florida senator’s performance was met with more than a few poor reviews.
Trump called eminent domain “a good thing”, saying, it was necessary to constructing roads, bridges, schools and hospitals.
“This is the greatest country in the history of mankind because of a set of principles”.
Mr Bush attacked Mr Trump again, this time for using “eminent domain” – the right to expropriate private land – to try to take an elderly woman’s property for a casino development in Atlantic City.
That is not public objective.
Trump has support from 30 percent of likely Republican voters, the poll shows.
Trump, unlike previous Republican debates, was not the centre of attention on social media during the debate on Saturday.

In the five polls, Trump averaged 32 percent.
