Trump wins Christie backing ahead of Super Tuesday
Soon after Chris Christie stunned the Republican political world by endorsing Donald Trump for president on Friday, the leaders of the New Jersey governor’s own presidential effort in Iowa and New Hampshire voiced sharply different opinions of his surprise move. Ted Cruz of Texas came at Trump with rapid-fire attacks in an effort to slow the real estate developer’s momentum. Trump has said he would build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico, U.S. trade negotiators are weak and it’s risky to take in Syrian refugees because terrorists could be among them.

Chris Christie’s endorsement Friday of Donald Trump for president has put Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker in a somewhat awkward spot.
The endorsement from Christie comes the day after Rubio changed tactics in Thursday’s GOP debate and began to attack Trump on a variety of fronts, from his business background to his preparedness to lead the nation. Christie worked as a federal prosecutor before becoming New Jersey governor but can’t run again for governor because of term limits. Christie noted that Trump is a long time friend and has been for a decade. “I think it’s sad for the voters because you don’t get a debate on policy…it’s all mudslinging and, quite honestly, I think it looks like a circus for the Republican party”.
“I have been on that stage”.
THE Republican presidential race exploded overnight, as frontrunner Donald Trump countered an onslaught of attacks with the bombshell endorsement of a former rival. He is the clear standout.
On Saturday, Democrats will head to the polls in SC to choose between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and current Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
“The two reasons that were given were the governor believes Mr. Trump is the best person to beat Hillary Clinton in the fall”.

“I don’t know why, because the podium goes up to here”, he said, signaling his midsection. “I just said wow, that is really great”, Trump said of winning Christie’s support. “I wished he had endorsed no one rather than Trump”.
