After moderate Republican Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker endorsed Chris Christie, he expressed shock that the New Jersey governor subsequently endorsed front-runner Donald Trump.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) – Donald Trump scored a powerhouse endorsement Friday as he sought to regain headway in a Republican presidential race that devolved into a series of fierce insults and schoolyard taunts heading into the weekend before critical Super Tuesday contests. Christie suspended his campaign on February 10 after a six-place finish in New Hampshire.
Mr Christie, the New Jersey governor and former candidate for president, said he was “thrilled and proud to be on team Trump”. “I think increasingly Americans, particularly young people, even amongst Democrats, that’s why there’s so many Bernie Sanders supporters out there, they realize you just can’t trust Hillary Clinton”.
Christie, a former federal prosecutor, is a moderate Republican running a largely Democratic state and was once seen as one of the party’s best hopes in 2016.

Trump has vowed to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexican border to fight illegal immigration, called for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States and promised to take a tough stance on trade against China.

Rubio hit at Trump’s business record, history of hiring foreign workers and his vague policy positions during the debate.
With Trump set to pick up a significant number of delegates when 12 states cast primary ballots March 1, Rubio continued a line of offense Friday that he began during Thursday’s debate.
LePage said he has respect for John Kasich, but said that the OH governor has no path towards the nomination. “I just watched you repeat yourself five times five seconds ago”, Rubio said with glee. “And I think that any of the governors would do well for me”, LePage said on the George Hale-Ric Tyler Show on WVOM.
