Trump wins endorsement from Republican Christie
That was Governor Scott Walker’s reaction, on the news that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

That endorsement came just hours after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a LePage ally, endorsed Trump.
He also said of Rubio: “I have never seen any human being sweat like this guy”. Then, then he asked for a full-length mirror, I don’t know why because the podium goes up to here (gestures to stomach). Ted Cruz in Iowa; “CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES” after Trump won the Republican South Carolina primary; and “ANTICHRIST!” after the Pope said Trump’s plan to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border was “not Christian”.
Christie, who dropped his presidential bid earlier this month after his poor performance in New Hampshire, showed up unannounced at a Trump event in Fort Worth, Texas to endorse the real estate mogul.
It’s a schizophrenic twist made public just after LePage’s Friday endorsement of Trump, the billionaire businessman who the governor has criticized in the past, and a potential example of the campaign horse-trading over the past week. More importantly though, it’s further proof that some of the GOP establishment is willing to do what previously seemed inconceivable – support Trump as the GOP nominee.
“The best person to beat Hillary Clinton in November on that stage last night is undoubtedly Donald Trump”, he added, ahead of a Trump campaign rally.
Trump is “rewriting the playbook”, said Christie, 53, who until two weeks ago was himself a rival of Trump for the Republican nomination. After which Rubio continued to read several of Trump’s tweets pointing out spelling mistakes in the Tweets.
“Desperate people do desperate things”, Christie said. “I said I’m about to witness history”.
JUDY WOODRUFF: In the end, Trump waved away both rivals, calling Rubio a choke artist and Cruz a liar. “That was one of the great prosecutions I’ve ever seen”, Trump raved at a post-endorsement rally. And, while I think it’s not the only reason that Christie did what he did, it’s absolutely a factor. “And honestly, I thought he was going to die, Rubio”.
