Shortly after the result of the election was made public, more and more voices are requiring the Democratic candidate to demand a recount of votes.

This actually happened three times in the 1800s and now it has happened twice in the last 16 years.
Woods, Gutzman and McClanahan dug deep into the history, along with current challenges to the Electoral Collage, emphasizing that the popular vote has never been a factor in electing presidents.
A group of academics and political activists are calling on USA officials to review or recount the 2016 election results, particularly in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, where Trump won by razor-thin margins.
Despite her ever-growing margin of victory in the popular vote, however, Clinton still ultimately lost the election due to the fact that Trump was able to secure the necessary 270 electoral votes to win. Merely complaining to your friends won’t help. To date, 10 states, and Washington, D.C. have passed national popular vote legislation, bringing the current total to 165 electoral votes. “So in our case, it’ll be the Republican slate of electors voting to support Donald Trump”, Canon says.
Clinton called Trump on November 9, the day after the election, to formally conceded the race and congratulate him on his victory.
Donald Trump secured his victory by winning previous Democratic strongholds of MI and Pennsylvania and easily secured the Electoral College 309 to 232.
They all said they don’t really know.
The debate has started again as to whether the US Constitution should be amended in order to change the presidential election process. Trump took the lead with 60 electors thus beating Clinton.
Trump earned 2,279,543 votes, and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton earned 2,268,839 votes. Reportedly there is a movement to deny Trump the presidency by electors refusing to cast their ballots for Trump when they meet on December 19. “I think we’d do as well or better”.

The group is working to lobby their Republican counterparts to also be “faithless electors”, hoping to illustrate a lack of confidence in the entire Electoral College system.
