Trump won in SC after the Democrats held caucuses earlier in the day in Nevada, where Hillary Clinton was projected the victor. “We’re going to start winning, because our country doesn’t win anymore”. “If it’s a low turnout”.

Sanders drew cheers from union workers at the casino hotel’s cafeteria.

John Kasich’s presidential campaign is already claiming a victory of sorts in SC.

According to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist Poll, Trump is leading the race with 28 percent, while Ted Cruz follows nearly closely behind with 23 percent.

Jeb Bush says he is ending his bid for the White House.

“But the people of Iowa, New Hampshire and SC have spoken”.

But, despite pinning his hopes on SC, where the Bush name has maintained some clout, the former Florida governor was unable to break into the top three there.

His own mother told him not to run, and on Saturday, Jeb Bush finally caved to her political wisdom, suspending his presidential campaign after another disappointing showing in South Carolina’s primary.

Polling places are open on Saturday from 7 a.m.to 7 p.m.

With 66 percent of the vote in, it appears Bush will have a fourth or fifth place finish in SC – a state where he banked on performing well. Trump told cheering supporters in Spartanburg, S.C., as he predicted further success in upcoming states like Nevada, Georgia, and Texas. “Wherever we go we fill up the arenas… the only thing that stops the crowds are the walls”.

And his take on the prospects of a President Donald Trump?

“I’ve had an incredible life, and for me, public service has been the highlight of that life”, Bush said in his concession speech. They are Senator Marco Rubio of Florida and Ohio Governor John Kasich.

At the moment, Ted Cruz has a narrow edge over Marco Rubio (22.2% to 21.3%).

Meanwhile, Nevada is also getting ready for its caucuses as the Democrats try to win the state through rallies.

Unlike in Iowa, caucuses are not a part of the political fabric of Nevada.

Any weakening of Mr Trump’s hold on the voters could be good news for Senator Cruz, who, like him, has been courting evangelicals and hard conservatives in particular.

But getting Bush out of the race is key to Kasich’s long-range strategy.

Sanders said in a statement that he’d congratulated Clinton on her victory, but then declared his campaign has “the wind at our backs as we head toward Super Tuesday” – the multi-state voting contests on March 1.

On the Republican side, the gloves came off at the last televised presidential debate and things have become rather bitter. “I would be happy with a one vote victory (HOPE)!”
