Trump Withholds Endorsements for Paul Ryan, John McCain
Donald Trump may be withholding his endorsement from House Speaker Paul Ryan, but Ryan says he never sought it in the first place. He is more straightforward about not endorsing John McCain. And with Trump’s implicit support, he’s hoping to knock out his high-profile opponent in next week’s primary.

The Washington Post reported last month on tension between Trump and Flake at a Capitol Hill meeting of GOP senators.
Trump has been critical of McCain, saying early in the presidential campaign that the senator from Arizona was not a hero because he was imprisoned during the Vietnam war.
Nehlen is tapping into that populist sentiment with his #DumpRyan campaign – hitting Ryan over immigration and for not proposing to build a border wall like Trump has. “And I’m just not quite there yet”, Trump said.
Ryan has endorsed Trump, though it’s hardly a cozy relationship – Ryan took a while to endorse, and during his Republican convention speech he barely mentioned the candidate.
“And we are confident in a victory next week regardless”, campaign spokesman Zack Roday said in a statement.
Ryan’s campaign office quickly responded that “neither Speaker Ryan nor anyone on his team has ever asked for Donald Trump’s endorsement”.
Pence also said that Trump, the Republican nominee for president, would appoint U.S. Supreme Court justices who reflect the values of the late Antonin Scalia, who served on the court for 30 years before his death in February.
“He has not done a good job for the vets”, he added. “They’re not being treated fairly”.
Flake said Monday that Trump’s “notion that we ought to have a religious test for people entering the country is just the antithesis of who we are as American” and is “at the root” of his feud with a Muslim Gold Star family – “and that’s what incensed the Khans so much”.
“We need loyal people in this country”. Would you mind if I endorsed him?
Both McCain and Ayotte are facing long-shot primary challengers, with Ayotte facing a tough fight against sitting Democrat Gov. Maggie Hassan. The primary for Ryan’s House seat is next week and Ayotte’s primary is next month.
Republican Indiana Governor and Vicep President nominee Mike Pence speaks at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. “But there has to come a point at which you say somebody who makes those kinds of statements doesn’t have the judgment, the temperament, the understanding to occupy the most powerful position in the world”. “And that can’t start until he apologizes to the Khans”, Dakota Meyer, one of a handful of living Medal of Honor recipients and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s son-in-law, wrote Tuesday on Twitter.
