Trump won’t speak at Detroit church
“They know that I’m not going to put anything or anyone in front of them that I feel is going to be harmful, and I feel we should have an educated conversation about what you’re going to do”.

When Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump comes to Detroit this weekend to try to strengthen his standing in the African-American community, he will be attending a service at a church and doing a one-on-one interview with the congregation’s leader, Bishop Wayne T. Jackson.
Jackson said he wasn’t disappointed that Trump won’t be speaking directly to the voters in his congregation.
Trump will answer questions that are relevant to the African American community such as education (including HBCUs), unemployment, “making our streets safe”, and creating better opportunities for all, the Trump Campaign said in a statement from Pastor Mark Burns, who set up a meeting between Trump and Jackson.
First off, Trump is paradoxically trying to sell to black Americans the same hardline “law and order” talk he peppered throughout his Republican National Convention acceptance speech and frequently spouts at his all-white rallies.
“The thing is this: This is why we live in a PC environment where you think one person speaks for all”.
Hillary Clinton discussed the pros and cons of debating Donald Trump Monday at a fundraiser in the Hamptons, telling donors that while she is preparing to debate, she doesn’t “know which Donald Trump will show up”. Burns tweeted it with a caption poking fun at Clinton: “Black Americans, THANK YOU FOR YOUR VOTES and letting me use you again”.
“I’m running against someone who will say or do anything”. This is not a Trump rally. Trump’s extreme rhetoric has emboldened extremists and white supremacists, he is attempting to redefine America away from the multi-cultural, tolerant nation that it is.
“We’re fighting for every single vote”. He has repeated the message at rallies in MI and around the country in the last two weeks. Last year, the businessman even said he expects to win “the African American vote.” John McCain. In 2012, the black vote was 98% for Obama to 2% for Mitt Romney.
Pastor Mark Burns, a supporter of Trump who met with the NY businessman last week, said: “Mr. Trump will answer questions that are relevant to the African-American community such as education, unemployment, making our streets safe and creating better opportunities for all”. “Listen, Republicans, it is so important Republicans, that we come together to defeat Hillary Clinton and those race-baiting Democrats”, he said.
