Julian Nagelsmann will be the youngest coach in the Bundesliga at 28 when he succeeds Huub Stevens at Hoffenheim next season.

Nagelsmann was a coach at Hoffenheim’s Under-17 side between 2010 and 2011, before becoming their manager in 2011 for five months.

Speaking to reporters, Rosen described the club’s decision to appoint Nagelsmann, whom he described as one of the brightest young coaching talents in German football, not as risky, but rather as “courageous”.

He has been given a three-year deal but is still studying for his senior coaching licence.

Hoffenheim will promote Julian Nagelsmann to manager after the season.

“I am looking forward to this exciting task and I’m grateful in advance for the trust placed in me and for this opportunity”, said Nagelsmann, who has said he will give no further interviews until taking over from Stevens.

His playing career was cut short when he sustained a knee injury during an U19 match against Eintracht Frankfurt.

“My philosophy is to attack the opponents near their own goal because your own way to the goal is not as along, if you get the ball higher up”. I also like Barcelona and Arsenal, as well as, the work of Arsene Wenger.

“They play very good football”.

The club have taken the decision following a run of results that has seen the team collect six points from their first 10 fixtures, leaving them second from bottom in the table.
