I’m glad that Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew made a bolder and more meaningful choice.

Sofia has become a junior ambassador for the Women on 20s campaign, a grass-roots effort to put a woman’s image on the $20 bill.

“I think Andrew Jackson was a tremendous secretary, I mean, a tremendous president”. “I know I speak for everyone here when I say how much we value Sofia’s ongoing dedication to this cause”.

The messy fight for the Republican presidential nomination shifted to a luxury seaside resort in south Florida as Trump and chief rival Ted Cruz quietly court party leaders before further high-stakes primary contests. But, let’s face it, USA currency has never been as colorful as that of other nations that celebrate not just politicians but authors and cultural icons.

Along with changes to the $20 bill, the back of the $10 bill will be changed from a picture of the treasury building to leaders from the Suffrage movement, Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Alice Paul and Lucretia Mott, per the New York Times.

But this week, the U.S. Treasury announced that a woman will soon appear on the $20 bill.

Alexander Hamilton, the architect of the American economy, will stay on the $10 bill, due in part to the intervention of hip-hop artists from the popular musical, “Hamilton”, in NY.

“We tell [visitors] the story of Tubman and other escaped slaves who settled in St. Catharines”, says Ford.

“The history of slavery which is known throughout the country and the world but it will also show a woman that was fearless who was dedicated to the fact that she wanted to be free”.

The back of the $5 bill will have an image of singer Marian Anderson and former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt.

There’s a slight variation among those using paper versus plastic: 60 percent of those who use credit cards prefer Tubman on the $20 bill, compared to 54 percent of those who pay with cash.

“We won’t stop promoting his legacy”, said Howard Kittell, president and CEO of the Andrew Jackson Foundation, which operates Jackson’s historic home, The Hermitage, in Tennessee. “Also, there are many woman that could be on dollars/coins for the United State (s) because of the important things they have done”.

The long-awaited currency redesign will have a cascading effect on bills of all denominations over the next decades, as new security features are introduced to make the bills harder to counterfeit.
