Tucson Students Joining National March for Our Lives Saturday

A Houston high school student organizing the city’s gun control march is calling on adults to play a role in supporting the gun control movement that students have led nationwide following the Florida high school shooting in February.

CLEVELAND- From Washington, D.C.to Northeast Ohio, students are holding what they call a “March For Our Lives” Saturday to end mass school shootings.

Local Houstonians said the focus is on the younger generation, but they are excited to experience the march.

A group of students from Pittsburgh Public Schools leaves Friday morning to head to Washington, D.C. for Saturday’s March For Our Lives rally.

“The Parkland shooting affected me a lot because I have to come to school every day, and I never know when something like that could happen to me”, said senior Coriell Chandler.

“I want stricter gun reform”.

“I don’t want to take away your guns”. The mission and focus of March for Our Lives is to demand that a comprehensive and effective bill be immediately brought before Congress to address these gun issues. In its aftermath, student organizers took the spotlight and began protesting for change. They’re getting out the signs.

She said that she and other leaders with the organization plan to attend the March for Our Lives rally as allies with the students. I feel like I really need to make a difference.
