Tufts University revokes honorary arts degree given to Cosby

The woman identified in a court document as Renita Hill alleged that Cosby abused her from 1983 through 1987, the first alleged abuse occurred when she was in high school during a trip to Atlantic City. “Once there, Cosby would hand Renita a glass with a few form of liquid in it and instruct her to ‘drink that,”‘ the lawsuit said.

Renita Hill, who appeared on an educational children’s TV show as a teenager with Bill Cosby in the 1980s, gives a statement during a news conference about a lawsuit against Cosby, Thursday, October 15, 2015, in Pittsburgh. There, he’d give her alcohol she believes was laced with drugs and molest her in hotel rooms.

The Associated Press does not generally identify people who say they are victims of sexual abuse, but Hill’s attorney says she doesn’t want to be anonymous.

Bowen further explained that Goucher proudly takes a “consistent stand” against sexual wrongdoings and had the college been aware of Cosby’s past misconducts they certainly would not have given him such an honor.

None of the statements named Hill, but all were made or issued after she publicly accused him on KDKA-TV, the lawsuit said.

Cosby’s representatives responded by depicting Hill as a liar and an extortionist who was out for money, Kontos said.

In her complaint obtained by the Daily News, Hill says she first met Cosby at Froggy’s Tavern in Pittsburgh when she was 16 years old and looking to break into show business.

Hill finally worked up the courage to cut off contact when she was enrolled at Spelman College in Atlanta, even though Cosby was paying for her studies and she had to drop out, her lawyer said.

Hill said she was too intimidated and afraid to come forward at the time, but later felt emboldened by other accusers to tell her story to a local television reporter.

During questioning 10 years ago, Cosby admitted to using his fame to seduce women and drugging them with Quaaludes before having sex with them, according to a deposition The New York Times released this summer.

Representatives for Cosby have yet to respond to the latest legal action, which emerges months after a group of other women, including former supermodel Janice Dickinson, also sued for defamation. Cosby settled the lawsuit in November, 2006.

Cosby, 78, has never been charged with a crime in connection with the scandal, but he damned himself during a 2005 deposition in the Pennsylvania lawsuit brought by accuser Andrea Constand. She is suing for sexual assault.
