“Suddenly the plane dropped and anything not fastened down flew into the air, including laptops”, passenger Christopher De Vries told KELO.

At one point, she described how passengers were “being tossed around like rag dolls”.

The Jet Blue flight from Boston to Sacramento arrived safely in South Dakota at around 7:30 p.m. central, or 5:30 p.m.

Passenger Rhonda Lynam said the plane began to rock as it went “right through a black cloud”. They were all treated from minor injuries then released. Eight passengers were injured in May when turbulence rocked a plane traveling from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Orlando, Florida. “It was dropping 25, 50 storeys, like an out of control elevator”.

jetBlue sent care team members to assist the injured.

The Boston flight was bound for Sacramento when things got rough and the pilot landed in Rapid City. He grabbed her to hold her to the seat. A flight attended was assisted off the plane by medical personnel. JetBlue said 122 of the passengers completed their trip Friday morning, landing in Sacramento more than seven hours after their scheduled arrival.

“Even though all flight crew were injured in some way, as far as I know, they all maintained their calm and never cracked”, he said.
