Turkey: 14 killed, 220 injured in attacks on police, military

At least 14 people were killed and more than 220 were injured in the string of bombings in Turkey’s Elazig city, media reports said.

Video footage showed a large plume of smoke rising from the area.

Three people were also killed in an attack near the Iranian border on Wednesday.

Clashes between the PKK and Turkish forces have been ongoing since a peace process crumbled in 2015, bringing an end to a two-year ceasefire.

A auto bomb ripped through a police station in the city of Elazig at 9:20 a.m. (0620 GMT) as officers arrived for work.

The first vehicle bombing hit a police station in the eastern province of Van late Wednesday, killing a police officer and two civilians.
