During a televised forum Wednesday on national security, Trump complimented Putin for having “great control over his country”.

“In the full clip he said, ‘That’s not the system I agree with, but he’s a strong leader there, ‘” Conway said. She said she took great care to use a separate process for classified information. “So I could communicate with a wide range of friends directly without it going through the State Department servers”.

The Trump campaign insists that it was not aware that King would air the interview during his show Politicking.

He denigrated active-duty military and praised Putin, she said.
