Turkey says pilot’s body to be flown back to Russian Federation
But the idea of a single anti-IS coalition involving Western powers and Russian Federation did not get off the ground as US President Barack Obama is said to have given a cool response to Hollande’s proposal.

Among other measures, the presidential decree suspends or restricts, according to a list to be drawn up by the government, the entry into Russian Federation of certain goods from Turkey. Mr Putin’s foreign affairs adviser, Yuri Ushakov, said on Friday that the Kremlin had received Mr Erdogan’s request for a meeting, but wouldn’t say whether such a meeting is possible. “We wish it hadn’t happened as such, but unfortunately such a thing has happened”.
Entering into force immediately, the presidential decree said a ban of charter flights from Russia to Turkey will be introduced, and Russian tourism operators should stop selling tour packages to Turkey. He has also demanded an apology.
Mr Putin dismissed Turkey’s claim that it would not have shot down the jet if it had known it was Russian as “rubbish”. “I hope that something like this doesn’t occur again”, he said.
Mr Erdoğan reiterated his call for a face-to-face meeting with Mr Putin on the sidelines of the Paris Climate talks next week.
President Putin, who condemned the incident as a “treacherous stab in the back”, has since refused to take telephone calls from the Turkish leader.
Citing problems faced by Turks in Russian Federation in the wake of the plane incident which sparked anti-Turkish demonstrations in Moscow, the ministry said non-urgent visits to Russian Federation should be avoided “until the situation becomes clear”.
Erdogan has said Turkey would not apologize for downing the jet, which resulted in the death of one of the pilots. The countries disagree sharply on whether the Russian plane was in Turkish airspace when it was shot down, as well as whether any warnings went out to the crew. Russian Federation also strengthened its anti-aircraft defences in Syria by moving a cruiser towards the coast and deploying new missiles at its main base.

While Turkey said Friday it wanted to calm tensions with Russian Federation and local media said Ankara “temporarily” suspended air strikes against IS targets in Syria, the Kremlin said Russian Federation would press ahead with its bombing campaign in the war-torn country.
