Turkish leadership lauds Pakistan for promoting regional peace, counter-terrorism

This was stated by the Turkish President and Prime Minister during their meeting with Army Chief General Raheel Sharif in Ankara on Tuesday.

The COAS assured Turkish leadership and brothers total support in handling their security challenges.

The COAS visited and laid wreath at Kamal Ata Turk Mausoleum in the Turkish capital, Ankara, according to DG ISPR Lt General Asim Bajwa tweeted on his official account.

The army chief also called on Defenece Minister, CGS separately and expressed satisfaction on defence cooperation. I am sure we will surmount them [challenges] with a common and coherent approach.

“Furthermore, there is no denying the fact that professionalism and devotion to duty is the hallmark of the Pakistan Army and of course it is an apt reflection of the institution and its courageous leadership”. The visit comes in the aftermath of terrorist attack in Ankara when two suspected suicide bombers hit a rally of pro-Kurdish and leftist activists outside the main train station, causing the loss of 96 lives.
