Turkish military kills four Daesh militants

In retaliation, the soldiers killed four Islamic State fighters in the first vehicle, while an unidentified number in the second auto fled.

A suicide bomber has opened fire on Turkish police and then blown himself up as they raided a suspected Islamic State (IS) militant hideout, injuring five officers.

Turkish authorities have detained 11 people who staged demonstrations in protest of the G-20 summit meeting near the Turkish Mediterranean coastal city of Antalya.

A suicide vest, assault rifles, ammunition and other explosive devices were found in the raid at Gaziantep, the official statement said.

The Turkish troops were patrolling along Syrian border in Oguzeli town of southern Gaziantep when they witnessed two vehicles moving towards soldiers with armed insurgents, the report quoted military sources, Xinhua quoted NTV news as saying.

Turkey has been on the hunt for IS extremists after a series of deadly attacks including bombings on October 10 in Ankara which killed 107 people.

Turkey has carried out sweeps against suspected IS militants in the weeks leading to the summit, detaining dozens of people, including 20 suspects nabbed in and around Antalya.
