Turn your Live Photos into GIFs with new Live GIF app
We called the iPhone 6s Apple’s biggest iPhone update ever in our in-depth iPhone 6s review, and it also happens to be the most powerful smartphone on the market today.

The tweak adds a brand new Live Photos button in the stock Camera app, and it works exactly in the same manner as it would on the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus. While the 4K video recording depends on the hardware, the Live Photos is totally based on the software part.
On the new handsets, you can bring the Live Photos to life by pressing down on the image. Tap on the Harry Potter-like photo, and the app uses magic to turn it into a GIF. The resulting file can then be shared anywhere, and the app provides a simple sharing mechanism for quick access to things like iMessage and Facebook.
“That GIF or a video taken from the Live Photo can then be saved to the Camera Roll, sent in a message or email, or uploaded to social networks”, MacRumors said. After opening, you’ll be greeted with all of the Live Photos on your device. Launch the app and it automatically detects any Live Photos on your phone, displays them in a grid (as shown below). Nobody needs that behind the scenes GIF.
Additionally, Live GIF offers 3D Touch support for peeking at photos, or the quick action of launching the app and creating a GIF out of your last Live Photo.
These Live Photos can be captured just like a normal image.
