Turner Sports NBA reporter Craig Sager says leukemia no longer in remission

“Very rarely does someone have a third”. He has twice bounced back from the disease, thanks in large part to a bone marrow transplant from his son, also named Craig: 1 mile of laps & all smiles the day before the transplant.

His first setback come after his initial round of leukemia treatment when he returned to the sidelines in March 2015, but was forced to take another leave of absence when the cancer returned.

In a snippet of the Real Sports interview released Monday, Sager revealed for the first time that his cancer had returned. Today, Ben Golliver of SI.com tweeted a photo of the transcript of that interview in which Sager said that doctors have apparently given him three to six months to live.

“Still kicking, still fighting”. After already receiving two stem cell transplants previously, Sager will now receive a third, which he describes as “uncharted waters”. TNT sideline reporter and Emmy nominated journalist Craig Sager is battling acute myeloid leukemia again.

“I haven’t won the battle”, he said. “But I haven’t lost it, either”, Sager said. “So I have to maintain my strength, so I can go through this”. Sports that Sager is going to try and continue to work the sidelines during National Basketball Association games this season.

He added that there’s “been some victories and some setbacks”.
