Carla Germaine, 40, gave Kyle three children over the course of their marriage, after the couple married in 2002.

‘We have sadly grown apart over recent years and been living apart since earlier this summer’.

He made the remark in June after a woman appearing on the show spoke about her rather more active sex life.

Viewers were left stunned when the host confessed to a female guest on the programme that his sex life had been suffering recently after she said: ‘Listen, I get sex from [my boyfriend] whenever I want. “I’ve had enough talking about it. I haven’t had sex for ages myself”.

He snapped back: “Tell him then!” They tied the knot in 2002 and they have children Henry, Alice and Ava together.

During the same interview Kyle also commented that his wife “wears the trousers” at home, saying: “There isn’t a man in the United Kingdom who’s married who’s telling the truth who says that his wife isn’t in charge”.

In 2012, Jeremy and Carla went through a hard time when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer, but Jeremy praised his wife for being a huge support through it all.
