After debuting a sporty single-cylinder stunt bike concept at the Salao Duas Rodas in Sao Paulo, it appears BMW is eager to get a piece of the entry-level pie as well.

When launched in India, the production-spec Stunt G 310 is likely to be sold as a TVS offering and there will be market-specific differences.

With the world premiere of the BMW Concept Stunt G 310 at South America’s largest motorcycle show, BMW Motorrad is presenting a completely new side: the uncompromising interpretation of an aggressive and agile stunt bike based on a single cylinder study. As a press release issued today by the German auto manufacturer describes, four-time World and European stunt riding champion Chris Pfeiffer assisted in its development, lending his expertise in the field to their program.

The company hasn’t revealed that the bike will come to India or not, but it looks largely identical to the BMW Concept Stunt G310. This has been possible due to the placement of the cylinder which is inclined towards the rear and the cylinder head which is rotated by 180 degrees. BMW says this has permitted the designers to make the bike more agile, by giving it a shorter wheelbase in spite of the long swing arm.

We can see the low-slung front and the raised tail section which will help it be fast and agile to change direction as well as being quick on its feet. The newly developed 1.0-cylinder engine allows for very compact proportions. The intake area has been shifted towards the front while the exhaust system has been moved closer to the rear, helping place the rear silencer in an standing position underneath the seat. In this way the silencer is optimally protected and does not limit the stunt rider’s freedom of movement. It has a lockable throttle to ensure the bike accelerates even though the throttle grip has been let go. The motorcycle’s gear ratios too have been designed specifically to provide enough propulsion at low engine speeds.

You’ll observe that the left bar comes with two levers: one is the clutch and the other one engages the rear brake, allowing a rider to use the foot brake even if his or her foot is not on the bike. Additionally, stunt pegs have been fitted onto the front axle and near the seat, along with red crash bars to protect the engine. The package features livery that pays tribute to the national colors of Brazil, the country which saw its debut. “Everything on this concept seems to be shouting out to ride it and defy the laws of gravity”.
