Tweet from Vanderbilt football account causing controversy
Vanderbilt University is taking some heat online for a tweet posted from the official football Twitter page.

As the Commodores were set for the first day of fall practice, a promotional graphic was tweeted that, while promoting its players as “relentless, tough, and intelligent”, also carried the phrase: “We don’t need your permission!”
The Vanderbilt football program on Thursday apologized for a tweet that was deemed insensitive, especially to a school where four former football players stand accused of sexual assault.
Followers on social media were quick to point out that two Vanderbilt football players were convicted in January of raping an unconscious fellow student. Two of the four football players are awaiting a second trial after a judge declared a mistrial.
Sexual assault and rape, particularly on college campuses, has become a major topic of discussion recently.
At a hearing, the juror said he never considered himself a victim, and that his work his previous experiences had no bearing on the outcome of the verdict against Vandenbury and Batey.
Thankfully, probably from everyone stating the obvious, the tweet has since been deleted from the account and someone might be in a wee bit of trouble.
