Twilight celebrates 10th anniversary with a gender-swapped rewrite
On the tenth anniversary of her famous series of novels, Meyer is set to emulate Rowling once more by coming up with a new “book” that continues to explore the world of vampires and humans but with a twist: Bella Swan gets to be a guy in this book and Edward Cullen gets to be a girl.

Meyer managed to keep the book under wraps taking all Twilight fans by surprise. “But it’s not something new”, Meyer said. Meyer explained that she wanted to use the rerelease as a way to prove Bella isn’t a “damsel in distress”.
But fans shouldn’t expect to see “Midnight Sun” anytime soon. The writing process for this story served as a therapeutic exercise for her; she felt it was a nice way for her to return to the Twilight universe.
The 10th anniversary of Twilight was celebrated this week with a new edition of the novel which included Life and Death, a reimagining of the story with the genders of lead characters Bella and Edward flipped.
In the new version of “Twilight”, the Cullen family will change their switching genders. Moreover, she said that she fixed the grammar errors previously cited in Twilight. Thus, we already know what happened.
Stephenie reportedly told the audience the publication of E.L. James’ Grey, the retelling of Fifty Shades of Grey from Christian’s point-of-view, has stopped her from moving forward with Midnight Sunday. Meyer also revealed that she was releasing another book at the end of 2016. This reminded many of Meyer’s “Midnight Sun”. According to the Daily Beast, Stephenie Meyer said that the character of Kristen Stewart has been criticized as a typical damsel who is too consumed with her love interest.

At least one fan attending agreed with Meyer’s take. Many fans offered ideas through various social media platforms that Meyer could work on like The Volturi, Renesmee and Jacob, the history of the Cullens and the tribe, etc. Moreover, a lot of actors and actresses made their mark in the business thanks to their unforgettable performance in “The Twilight Saga”.
