Twin Bomb Blasts At Kano GSM Market, Scores Feared Dead

At least eleven people died after two suicide bombers detonated their explosive devices at the popular farm centre GSM market in Kano state north-west Nigeria.

The incident occurred less than 24 hours after a similar explosion in a crowded park in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, left at least 34 people dead and 80 injured.

He only said: “I am on my way to scene of the incident”, in response to TheCable’s inquiry.

The witness informed further that two vans filled with victims were driven away from the scenes of the explosions, adding that a teenage suicide bomber is believed to be behind one of the explosions.

The number of casualties is yet to be ascertained, and the Kano stay police spokesman, Musa Majiya, could not confirm the incident.

He says millions of Naira is believed to have been lost at farm centre GSM market in Kano, as a result of the attack.

It was gathered that the first explosion occurred at the first gate of the market near a generator and the second exploded at the second gate which is the main entrance of the market.
