Twins can’t escape AL basement, lose 7-3 to Rays

Rays pitcher Chris Archer, with one win in his past 10 starts, looked like his old self Saturday night, holding the Minnesota Twins to three hits in six innings and leading Tampa Bay to a 7-3 win at Tropicana Field.

Over on the Rays’ side, we’ll be seeing RHP Matt Andriese on Sunday. The Tampa Bay Times reported the Rays were not informed of Fox’s injury by the Giants, and Tampa Bay may seek additional compensation from San Francisco as a result. The Times said Fox’s injury could cost him the rest of the minor league season.

All in all, a series we need to see from Sano who entered with understandably high expectations in his sophomore season with the Minnesota Twins. “I know it hasn’t been the season that David Ortiz is having this year with his send-off, ” Souza said. The switch could come next week when Duffy is expected back from a left Achilles tendon strain.
