Twitter considering 10000-character limit for tweets
However Twitter‘s character limit has become key to its brand – a fast, sharp way to send thoughts and information.

In September, we first heard Twitter was experimenting with tweets longer than 140 characters.
There’s now no exact date for when this change will begin to roll out to users, though Recode estimates we could see tweets that employ the new limit as soon as the end of this quarter.
But according to some Twitter users, the change would be a 10,000-character step in the wrong direction: It would make Twitter less likable for those who actually use the service.
Some would argue that this project is all about execution. “All of which leads to the possibility that Twitter’s revenue growth continues to decelerate”.
On Tuesday, however, some users took to Twitter to express their opposition to the possible longer tweet with the hashtag #beyond140.
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has seemingly confirmed rumours that the social network could introduce a 10,000 character limit on tweets.
After officially raising the character limit on Direct Messages previous year, Twitter may now be planning to increase the limit on regular tweets.
Twitter declined to comment to SocialTimes on the matter.
Twitter is also working on the idea of changing its reverse chronological timeline. If you want to read the rest, you can click to expand the tweet, or as other websites call it, the “blog post”, and give the whole thing a look.

Dorsey said, “We’re not going to be shy about building more utility and power into Twitter for people”. This move is likely aimed at bringing more of that conversation onto Twitter. The report adds that the company hopes to launch the longer tweet feature sometime in the next few months.
