Twitter explodes as Leicester claim 2-1 win over Chelsea

Leicester City’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Chelsea has killed manager Jose Mourinho’s hopes of finishing in the top four this season.

Goals from talismanic pair Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez were enough to seal the points for the Foxes, with Loic Remy netting a consolation for the visitors.

The defeat leaves Chelsea just a point off the Premier League relegation zone, and 14 points behind the Champions League places.

“One of my best qualities is that I can read the game and identify the strengths of the opponent and tell my players what they are”.

“It’s hard for us to score goals when you have players who are not on their best level”.

“All last season I did phenomenal work and I brought them to a level which is not their level”.

With his side now 14 points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, many believe Mourinho’s side will be unable to secure the Champions League place they so crave.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Mourinho said: “In 10 seconds he made the decision himself [to come off] so it must be a serious injury”.

Claudio Ranieri has admitted he knew he would be sacked by Chelsea as soon as Roman Abramovich bought the club. “I have to be honest with them and say that every day in training I enjoy to work with them because they want to work”.

Good thing for Chelsea is that they have a good record with Leicester. They have won in all of their last 8 Premier League meetings.

He said: “I don’t know if anyone can stop me but I need to do my best for the team”.

“That’s the positive thing that makes me leave the dressing room with a feeling that isn’t so bad as the result because in the last 30 mins they were a team”.

“I accept we are in the relegation zone but I don’t accept we are in a relegation battle”, he said.

Asked if Chelsea could still finish in the top four this season, Mourinho said only: “The top four is gone – clearly”.

To cap a miserable night, the Chelsea manager also saw Eden Hazard limp off injured in the first half after a challenge from Vardy.

Dyer was ineligible to face his parent club Swansea in Leicester’s 3-0 win at the Liberty Stadium last week, but adds to the Foxes options going into the game against Jose Mourinho’s struggling reigning champions.
