Twitter explodes with epic reactions after Ramdev announces to launch swadeshi jeans
The founder of the company Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev announced that an indigenous brand of jeans will soon be launched under the brand name of Paridhan. Baba Ramdev on Sunday said ‘the idea behind expanding business ventures is to end the dominance of multinational corporations that have for decades been capitalising on the country’s market’. There is a great demand from youths of India, therefore Patanjali has chose to launch the Indian styled jeans to compete with the foreign brands like as Denim, Levi’s etc.

“Patanjali’s plans involve getting into the garment sector, and it also wants to enter edible oils and home products like toilet cleaners”. He then made a decision to create a whole range of clothing. “Profits earned would be used in those countries for development, and won’t be ploughed back to India”, said Ramdev. If permitted, Ramdev is set to start units in Pakistan and Afghanistan as well.
He said their company products are reaching right up to Canada.
The total investment in the city will be Rs 1,000 crore with providing employment opportunities to 10,000 to 15,000 youths from Maharashtra.
Yoga Guru said that Patanjali is in the process of setting up big units in Assam, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh besides establishing subsidiary units in a number of places, as part of supply chain.
Patanajali Group will provide jobs to the next of kin of farmers, who committed suicide in the region.
An export unit in the adjoining SEZ will be set up as Nagpur provides better connectivity, he said.
Backed by 200 scientists and R&D units to support product quality, Patanjali has set a target of Rs50,000 crore in the FMCG segment, according to Ramdev. The company will launch 10 mega units and 50 small units in next couple of months, he said.

“Though jeans is a foreign apparel, considering the demands of the time we live in, we can do its “swadeshikaran”, Ramdev said during a programme organised by Nagpur Union of Working Journalists. Now Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali is going to enter into fashion world.
